When we are feeling down, we are suppose to keep our faith and pray to a higher being we called God. Sometimes those prayers are left unanswered. Sometimes we got what we prayed for.

Sometimes, somehow we receive something totally unexpected but still, it felt good to receive it and we know it's God's work.

And that Something Totally Unexpected(TM) arrived in my mailbox today courtesy our friendly neighborhood postman via Celcom.

Yerp, nothing beats free stuff. I got 2 free passes from Celcom when I decided to reload twice in a day, about RM20 I think, heh, yes, I'm a cheapskate, but it turns out Celcom do appreciate this cheapskate customers coz a few minutes later I receive an SMS asking for my details :)

at first I was hesitant cos I don't want to be caught up in all those scam sms, but after a call to their customer care line, turns out it was true so without further ado... sms away.

BTW, this movie is rated 18 sg, so if you are underaged, make sure you come with somebody older who can sneak you inside the cinema okay? coz this movie looks awesome and you can't afford to miss it. LOL.

Unless of course if the movie bombed, you can always watch it on your Astro next Hari Raya. (I'm kidding, KRU :p)

Remember to support your local movie okay? If this kind of epic movie takes flight,sure enough other film producer will take notes and make their own version of 'epic' movie, unless if you are a certain Prof Madya Whose-Name-You-Shall-Never-Speak, stay away from the director's chair, ok? Let people with actual talent do it.

He received his latest immunization jab last week and he's looking as healthy as any healthy baby can be.

Look at the picture above, the weird thing is, he didn't even cry when the doctor gave him the jab, he just focusing his stare at the female nurse there

Currently he's weighted at 6.7kg and he has grown in length to 65cm.

First of all, before anything,

to Lissa, This Is The Part Where I tell You I Love You.

Yesterday was our 5th anniversary, and to our parents, thanks for the wish. :)

So yeah, in case it wasn't clear enough, yesterday was our 5th Anniversary. We celebrated lightly, and I mean VERY lightly.

We thought of having dinner outside, but since it was Ramadhan and already 5pm and we haven't made any reservation yet (yer, blame me, the husband) we were second guessing whether to go outside or not.

Finally, we'd made our mind and decided to go outside whether it's packed or not and since was already 6pm when we made the decision (we know, 1 hour to come to a decision for having dinner is quite ridonkulous) I advice my wife to make a few sandwiches and bring some drinks JUST.IN.CASE. Haha, and what a wonderful idea and how wonderful the sandwiches was.

A very unexpected thing happen on the way to IKANO, the road was actually CLEAR, no traffic in sight as normally the road will be packed with people coming from KL thru MRR2. Thank you God.

We did manage to arrive JUST.IN.TIME for berbuka as the call for prayer was sounded as we came into the parking area. We decided to have some of the sandwiches in the car. (Wife made it with such love, I can't help it but eat it with full of love too :P)

So, long story short we had our late berbuka slash Wedding Anniversary dinner at Thai Express. The food was quite yummy and the service was fast too. Maybe they wasn't as busy after struggling to finish all the orders for buka puasa a few minutes before.

I must remind myself the Thai Cendol there is quite heavenly if eaten during a hot sunny day. Must remember to do that after Raya, hehe.

Btw, my wife bought one of the item above as a wedding present for me. can you guess which?

See it's quite easy to get a present for me, just buy anything that features something as remotely looking like a Skull. Usually I prefer if said item is attached to a shiny new gadget. Hehe.

And this is what she got. Shiny eh? Do't be fooled, that actually cost MORE than mine. It boggles the mind, eh?

So that's the report of our anniversary activity yesterday if any of you care, and if you've read until this part, that means you care. I'm touch. :)

Since last week lissa featured our house on her blog, I decided to feature my room here as bonus because she only put ONE measly image (and even that was horribly disfigured by the inclusion of my face). So if you read this, it's like being there, but do be warned, it's not. (and just like a vampire, only the invited can come inside, haha)

This is where all the magic happen, aka the work table. Fun fact: it's not really a table, only a piece of our old cupboard door hang on two side table (yes I know, creative right? and not to mention for the cost of zero RM it's quite cheap)

Anybody else reading this also watch the sitcom 'Roseanne' from the 90's?

It was one of my favorite show. I can't really be bothered to give you the synopsis as Mr Google and IMDB can provide a better option, but what really struck a chord with me about the show was her daughter, Darlene.

Well, Darlene, much like me was a loner and an introvert at that time. Can't really be bothered with the popular group (actually wasn't even being noticed by them at all!) and her family always gets her down. She was also the reason I was into writing poetry, after she read aloud this one poem she wrote (albeit hesitantly after her mom ordered her to) and read in the show.

1. Intranet

It was also used to describe an internal Web site that was hosted behind a firewall and was accessible only to employees. Today, every private network runs IP. So you can just use the term virtual private network or VPN to describe a private IP-based network.

2. Extranet

An "extranet" referred to private network connections based on Internet standards such as IP and HTTP that extended outside an organization, such as between business partners. Extranets often replaced point-to-point electronic data interchange (EDI) connections that used standards such as X12. Today, companies provide suppliers, resellers and other members of their supply chain with access to their VPNs.

3. Web Surfing

When is the last time you heard someone talk about surfing the Web? You know the term is out of date when your kids don't know what it means. To teens and tweens, the Internet and the World Wide Web are one and the same thing. So it's better to use the term "browsing" the Web if you want to be understood.

4. Push Technology

The debate over the merits of "push" versus "pull" technology came to a head in 1996 with the release of the PointCast Network, a Web service that sent a steady stream of news to subscribers. However, PointCast and other push technology services required too much network bandwidth. Eventually, push technology evolved into RSS feeds, which remain the preferred method for publishing information to subscribers of the Internet. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

5. Application Service Provider (ASP)

During this decade, the term "Application Service Provider" evolved into "Software-as-a-Service." Both terms refer to a vendor hosting a software application and providing access to it over the Web. Customers buy the software on a subscription basis, rather than having to own and operate it themselves. ASP was a hot term prior to the dot-com bust. Then it was
replaced by "SaaS." Now it's cool to talk about "cloud computing."

6. Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)

Coined by former Apple CEO John Sculley back in 1992 when he unveiled the Apple Newton, the term "personal digital assistant" referred to a handheld computer. PDA was still in use in 1996, when the Palm Pilot was the hottest handheld in corporate America. Today, the preferred generic term for a handheld like a Blackberry or an iPhone is a "smartphone".

7. Internet Telephony

You need to purge the term "Internet telephony" from your vocabulary and switch to VoIP, for Voice over IP. Even the term VoIP is getting old-fashioned because pretty soon all telephone calls will be routed over the Internet rather than the Public Switched Telephone Network. It's probably time to stop referring to the PSTN, too, because it is headed for the history books as all voice, data and video traffic is carried on the Internet.

8. Weblog

A blog is a shortened version of "Weblog," a term that emerged in the late 1990s to describe commentary that an individual publishes online. It spawned many words still in use such as "blogger" and "blogosphere." Nowadays, few people have time to blog so they are "microblogging," which is another word that's heading out the door as people turn Twitter into a generic term for blasting out 140-character observations or opinions.

9. Thin Client

You have to give Larry Ellison credit for seeing many of the flaws in the client/server computing architecture and for popularizing the term "thin client" to refer to Oracle's alternative terminal-like approach. In 1993, Ellison was touting thin clients as a way for large organizations to improve network security and manageability. Although thin clients never replaced PCs, the concept is similar to "virtual desktops" that are gaining popularity today as a way of supporting mobile workers.

10. Rboc

In 1984, the U.S. government forced AT&T to split up into seven Regional Bell Operating Companies [RBOCs] also known as Baby Bells. Customers bought local service from RBOCs and long-distance service from carriers such as AT&T. Telecom industry mergers over the last 15 years have formed integrated local- and long-distance carriers such as AT&T, Verizon and Qwest. This makes not only the term RBOC obsolete, but also the terms ILEC for Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier [i.e., GTE] and CLEC for Competitive Local Exchange Carrier [i.e., MFS].

11. Long-Distance Call

Thanks to flat-rate calling plans available from carriers for at least five years, nobody needs to distinguish between local and long-distance calls anymore. Similarly, you don't need to distinguish between terrestrial and wireless calls because so many people use only wireless services. Like pay phones, long-distance calls -- and their premium prices -- are relics of a past without national and unlimited calling plans.

12. World Wide Web

Nobody talks about the "World Wide Web" anymore, or the "Information Superhighway," for that matter. It's just the Internet. It's a distinction that Steve Czaban, the popular Fox Sports Radio talk show host, likes to mock when he refers to the "Worldwide Interweb." Nothing dates you more than pulling out one of those old-fashioned ways of referring to the Internet such as "infobahn" or "electronic highway."

So now you know. Although I still use the term "Surfing" and "PDA" as with "Cloud Computing","RSS" and "VOIP".

On second tought, no I won't disclosed how much, just that it cost too damn much.

I bought 2 Star Wars figure, 4 boxes of Marvel Legend figures, a Marvel Face Off, a Star Wars light saber, an Animated Transformers figure, a Hulk figure, lots and lots of Play Doh, My Little Pony and a few littlest pet shop (I swear those last 3 toys are for Indah, pinkie swear!)

And if not for that thieving bastard who simply take other peoples items (F*cked you!) I would've had a talking Indiana Jones 12" too. Seriously, some people are just born jerks, he took a swipe at my friends items an mine when we weren't looking. :(

Bulkhead from Animated Transformers, this figure is from Deluxe Leader line. I just love the design although it's kind of a hassle to transformed, never knew I had to used the manual to transform it.

In robot mode, it can stand quite well even if the body does not match the legs.

The figure include an alternate head although the color scheme does not match (purple?! For a green robots?!). Somebody informed me the in the cartoon the head is a villain who kind off hijacked the body.

This R2-D2 is from the Clone Wars animated series. Nothing to comment here cause the series doesn't really take off with me.

At first I though this guy was Boba Fett, you know, the bounty hunter, but it turned out it was Jodo Kast, not as cool as Fett, still I loves the uniform and the colors.

Oh yeah! This baby is my Fav, from the sculpting, coloring, the lights up eyes, and it also talk!

The design is from the Star Wars Force Unleashed Video game, and it's the version that can change from Jedi to Sith, just like the the video games where you can choose to be bad or bad along the way. I choose Sith! (we don't need those Rebel Scum around here)

It's green light will change to red when in Sith mode and the spikes turned up!

He revealed the problem to an audience in New Delhi as he was honoured for his charity work.

Mr Gates, who remains Microsoft chairman, said he had trouble figuring out whether he "knew this person, did I not know this person".

"It was just way too much trouble so I gave it up," Mr Gates told the business forum.

Mr Gates was in the Indian capital to receive the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development, awarded by the government for his work for the charitable organisation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The foundation, built by his massive fortune, has committed almost $US 1 billion ($1.22 billion) to health and development projects in India, targeting AIDS and polio.

Mr Gates also confided to the audience that he was "not that big at text messaging" and that "I'm not a 24-hour-a-day tech person".

"I read a lot and some of that reading is not on a computer," he said.

Mr Gates, who sought to drive a vision of a computer on every desk and in every home, said the information technology revolution had been "hugely beneficial" but added: "All these tools of tech waste our time if we're not careful."

US worker dies in chocolate vat

A man has died after falling into a vat of hot chocolate at a factory in the US state of New Jersey.

Vincent Smith Jr, 29, was emptying pieces of solid chocolate into the melting vat when he slipped from a platform into the 2.5m (8ft) deep unit.

A spokesman for the local prosecutor's office said the man appeared to have died instantly from a blow to his head by a paddle mixing the chocolate.

His colleagues at the factory tried to shut down the mixer, but were too late.

Local journalists met some of the workers in the car park, covered in chocolate and seemingly in dismay, US network ABC reported.

Mr Smith was a temporary worker at the Cocoa Services Inc plant in the city of Camden.

The chocolate is mixed at the plant by another company before being shipped.

Ultraman is one of those series that define my childhood, how many hours have been wasted just playing as Ultraman and mimicking his transformation moves, final attack and fighting moves. Really, it is one of those series that every children will remember fondly when they've grown up.

But this post is not about the nostalgia or the memories of growing up with ultraman.

But rather, what do you see when you watch the series?

Have any of you watch and episode of Ultraman (any version) and thought to yourself, hmm, this series seems like a metaphors for human and it short time here on earth? No? Okay, maybe just me. Let me try to explain.

'Try' is the keyword here, ok? :)

See, Ultraman is us. He is us before and after transformation . His 3 minutes limit on earth is of course is a reference to us, Humans, and our short life span on earth before we die and gone to the afterlife.

Those Monsters that he fight? That is our own monsters or rather, our problems and challenges that we have to face daily. Our aspirations that we can't seem to grab, our wish and wants that just not ours to get. Those are the monsters.

Meanwhile Tokyo (or whatever city that is he fight at) represent our daily lifelihood. Our life here on earth, where we communicate with other humans and places.

See, when he fight those monster is he really fighting them for himself or rather for the little humans? And what happens to the city during those fights?

The city crumbles.

It crumbles like cookies and biscuits in the hands of children. Just like our lives if we spent so many time just fighting and dwelling with our inadequacies rather than accept our inability and thriving to surpassed our limit. Some human have proven this, have you ever see a paralympic athlete that have lost both their legs but still manage to conquer the track, or a blind man who manage to be more efficient in the dark?

Ultraman rarely communicates with the humans. Sometimes, he manage to kills off those monsters without any support from those humans, sometimes he gets help from them whether he asked for it or not and then only he manage to get rid of the monsters. On rare occasion he needs help from his fellow Ultras from high up in the sky when the going really gets tough.

This is just metaphors for the needs of communication in our daily lives. Someday we can just keeps to ourselves without other people's interruption, and someday we can't, and someday, sometimes, when we really feeling down and nothing seems to be right, we asked for help from a higher place (God).

See where i'm going here? Those creator of the Ultraman series maybe on to something here.

Or not, and maybe I just read to much into it.

Omigawd! PESTA MALAM INDONESIA 3 is next Saturday!!

Today is already June the 15 and we still haven't bought our tickets yet.
We have tried our luck to grab some free tickets from HotFM, but to no avail. FAILED, big time. Lissa as usual is always busy at the office and I can't listen to the radio in the office. Streaming radio doesn't seem to be live.

Maybe we can score some ticket during the concert day, hopefully they won't jacked up the price there.

BTW, this year seems like a dream come true for the both of us as it seems like a repeat of the 1st PMI in 2006.

Just look at the band list. There's Dewa, Padi, Andra & the Backbone, and of course, GIGI and SO7! We just know in our hearts that its gonna freaking rocked our brains off!

For Lissa and I, PMI seems like when we decided to share our biggest news with our own circle of friends, think of it as our own private press conference. Without the press of course, and also it's not really a conference.

For example, PMI 1 (2006) was where we decided to tell them we are going to have a baby. (during the rain no less, for obvious dramatical effect \m/ ) and PMI 2 last year was when we decided that, erm, wait, was it? no, that one, no. Eh, there was no news last year is it? Hahah, maybe we were so excited that there was actually another PMI that we totally forget to prepare some breaking news. o-O;

Btw, there's a lots of ways how YOU guys can actually score some tickets, let see, there's Axcess Ticket counter, during the concert day at Stadium Bukit Jalil car park A (that should be your last resort) fyi, map is here. Interestingly, the tickets will include some iTalk goodies worth RM10 (that price includes in the RM60 you paid for the ticket).

I should start using my own advice and start looking for some tickets.

Desktop aku untuk bulan May, of course inspirasi daripada cover album Beatles. (image ni bukan aku yang buat pun, search google image)

Untuk pengetahuan korg, aku tak guna 'Start Button' yg ada dalam Windows Vista, aku guna RocketDocks untuk start application, yang aku suka guna dia sbb bole diubahsuai ikut citarasa korang, skin pun bole, tambah add on lain bole, Start button tu pun aku dah buang (guna Startkiller), cariklah mana ada kan? Heheh, aku guna Google Desktop utk ganti Vista Sidebar and Windows Search.

Bercakap pasal google search ni, ada satu lagi search engine yg baru, Wolfram Alpha, (jangan dikonfius dgn wolfram and Hart, tu citer Angel) still in beta (or is it alpha?) stage, still it's kinda impressive. Bagi je la apa2 soalan dalam bentuk ayat atau formula, dia akan terjemahkan dan bagi jawapan untuk korang. Cuba korang type 55km/h, tengok apa jawapan dia, kinda geeky gak.

16 May 2009 11 am'ish

Went to Midvalley for the 'Backyard Monsters and Dinosaur' exhibition. Paid RM12 each for the event but I was sorely disappointed, really, really disappointed. The event was only in 1 hall and there wasn't any shows or movies or anything. Just some mechanical robots with dinosaur skins, moving jerkily. Stupid organiser. Iklan berapi.

Maybe it was my fault for didn't properly check out the response from the net, blogs and all.
Nahhhh, the organiser was wrong.

But we didn't properly checking out all of the so called 'monster' cause Indah was scared of them, though she was over that phase. Seems I was wrong though.

This rhino beetle was the first thing that greets us. One of my fav.

My favorite, STEGOSAURUS! Muka jahat tapi hati baik. It is a herbivore.

The Present

FYI, it took almost 6 hours for Lissa and I to choose my birthday present. Initially it was going to be a psp, then found out the price was too high for psp 2000, better wait when they crack psp 3000. Got built in mic and proper skype and colorful too. Go pirates, arrr matey.

Then we go for a PS3, although the price is high but we believe it's a great investment (media center, blu ray player.) but all the shops was giving different price range, even got one who tried to cheat us, multi region my ass!

Next, we thought may a videogame console was not a good idea, so I suggest and Ipod Touch. An 8gb version just cost around RM900++. Wi Fi, movie, music, and looks yummy too, but still, no go.

Whoa, totally forgotten to update on my birthday celebration (not that it's that interesting. On second thought, yes, yes it is).

It's not fully my fault as much as was situational. Like a comedy, my every steps and action will be punctuated by various missteps and walls and problems and mindless, stupid, reckless abandonment.

And also, I tend to be forgetful.

Maybe it's natures's way of telling me that i'm old. Not older, just plain ol' OLD. Ok, maybe I should just stand in the corner and weep now.

Meh...nothing can stop me from enjoying my life, even if i'm not living it to the fullest. Who says what is fullest anyways? Maybe they were talking about food and eating. If that is so then i'm already on my way.

Hahaha.

Dapat tepon dari abah tadi.

Uish, maka berlari2 anak ke kereta le aku utk balik.

Sampai rumah, autogate takleh bukak (ish, dah takde karan camna) lupa plak nak amik kunci manual dari abah tadi.
So dengan gaya pencuri (tetapi masih segak berpakaian kemas :P, TEO - Thief Executive Officer) maka aku pun panjat gate tu. Tinggi la gak.

Masuk2 rumah, mama kata Astro dekoder yg buat hal, dia meletup, satu rumah punya wiring pun ikut meletup. Dasar berpersatuan sungguh wiring rumah nih.

Satu Selayang cari electrician sampai berpeluh ketiak (nasib baik pkai deodorant Adidas - All Day I Dream About S**) jumpa satu apek nih, dia kata pukul 3 baru leh datang.

Kedai wa tatak olang bole tengok woo!

Suka hati ko la apek. So skang aku dah balik opis, kejap lagi nak tepon dapat feedback.
Kalau apek tu tak bole repair, maka bergelap dan berpeluh la satu famili malam nanti. Nak tak nak kena la support Earth Day.

Haha, ntah, aku tak kenal sapa sapa nama Manuel weh, ni watak2 dlm *opera sabun kat NTV7 kot. Haha.

For those who watched Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny on Astro channel 411(HBO), there was a part that got cut, during their rock off with the Devil. You can watch it here.

Apart from the devil thing, i'm not sure why it got cut, maybe some parent complain to them, just like what happen when The Reaper got cut from channel 711.

Why? Why must parent complain to the TV station when they can't properly take care of their own children? Are they so scared their children will be converted to some type of devil worshipping demonchild?

Isn't it your responsibilty as the PARENTS to teach your children? Not the tv, not Astro and certainly not your 'bibik'. You know what can happen if you didn't take care of your kids properly?

You got demonchild as your succesor.

That's what happen when you leave your responsibility to your 'bibik', the tv, and Astro to take care of your kids, .
